It is safe to say the release of Grand Theft Auto 6 will be the biggest of this century because of the madness and hype the Rockstar games have created. Fans are eagerly awaiting any information that may be released, as the wait has been long and arduous. It is safe to say that fans are extremely curious about what Rockstar has in store for them with the next installment.
However, in today’s world, it is nearly impossible to keep a secret for so long. It is appreciable to say that the Rockstar games have managed to keep a lot of information away from the world for a very long time. But as we know the internet is a very notorious place. All it needs is a chance and that is what recently happened with the Rockstar games. The internet awoke as there were several gameplay leaks of Grand Theft Auto 6.

But before jumping to the leaks let’s look at some official announcements of the GTA 6 which is confirmed by the company. A playable female protagonist has been included in GTA 6 for the first time, which has led to a lot of information being released about the game. One of two playable characters based on Bonnie and Clyde, the character is reportedly a Latina lady. It is quite interesting to have a female protagonist because so far the Grand Theft Auto franchise has only offered male protagonists and there we bada**.

So this was the official information, now let’s talk about the most controversial leaks. One of the most well-known internet forums for discussing all things Grand Theft Auto is GTAForums. On September 18, it unintentionally became the location of assets from the still-in-development Grand Theft Auto 6 that had been released. Other social media websites like Twitter and YouTube rapidly started to host the leaks.
Unfinished assets were used in several clips that showcased the game’s in-development features, such as the setting, gunplay, and NPC AI. The videos also appeared to validate various internet claims regarding GTA 6 such as the inclusion of male and female characters.
A lot of the characteristics you would anticipate from a Grand Theft Auto game are definitely still under development. There includes a car pursuit and several animation tests, including testing of melee fighting, automobile interiors (with movable rearview mirrors and sun visors), and changing weapons.

The clips are very believable, not just because they show great game physics and graphics and have a female protagonist. Just after the leak, Rockstar Games made an official statement confirming the leaks. The Rockstar games twitter said,
We recently suffered a network intrusion in which an unauthorized third party illegally accessed and downloaded confidential information from our systems, including early development footage for the next Grand Theft Auto.
Furthermore, Despite the widespread leaks, Rockstar assured fans that it did not foresee any disruption or “long-term effect on the development” of its continuing projects. The next Grand Theft Auto game’s development will “continue as planned.”
Despite looking at the game’s progress the company certainly wants to avoid some hazard to happen like Cyberpunk 2077. And they will take their time to release the game. It is safe to say that this year we can get some more official announcements regarding Grand Theft Auto 6. And we can expect the game to be released in 2025. Till then the company will hope that there are no more leaks and at the same time the anticipation increase.
