Sony Interactive Entertainment has mostly shown its financial results for the last three months of 2022. According to this report, Sony sold a lot of PlayStation 5s. As of December 2022, they had shipped almost 32.1 million units.
Since 2021, the last quarter of 2022 was the most successful one in terms of sales. In that quarter alone, 7.1 million PS5 consoles were shipped. PlayStation 4 shipped 8.7 million units in the same quarter and has sold more than 117 million units overall. This puts PS5 a long way behind, but judging by how sales have gone in just two years, PS5 is likely to take the lead sooner or later.

As of December 2022, the number of PlayStation Plus subscribers has dropped by a lot. Now, there are 46.4 million subscribers, which is 1.6 million less than in the same quarter of 2021. But the situation is different for Active Users. There are 112 million active users each month, which is one million more than there were a year ago.
Software sales for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 have also dropped by about 6.2 million from the same time last fiscal year, when they were worth 92.7 million. There were 20.8 million sales of First Party Titles, which is 9.5 million more than the previous year. As for digital downloads of full games, sales are the same at 62% as they were last year.
God of War Ragnarok is quickly rising to the top of the games list. As of February 2023, it had already sold 11 million copies. The game can only be played on PS4 and PS5 systems.
