On March 22, 2023, Valve began offering early access to Counter-Strike 2 to a select group of gamers and streamers. Over the past few weeks, it has been widely known that the Source 2 upgrade will be released for the original Counter-Strike Global Offensive (CS: GO). The testing stage has started, giving players a taste of the improvements the game will see when it is released.

Many video clips depicting lightning, alterations to the environment, and countless other graphical improvements to the levels, weaponry, and much more were released by Valve. Fans were curious about how to sign up for the beta as well as when it would conclude, which sparked their interest.

How you can download and play the beta version of CS: GO 2?

Don’t be shocked if you have to wait a little longer to get your hands on Counter-Strike 2. There are some severe requirements to enter the Limited Test, and early reports indicate that many people have missed out. But, individuals that are accepted into the Limited Test will be among the first people in the globe to experience Counter-new Strike’s era.

Sadly for many, in order to participate in the Counter-Strike 2 Limited Test, you had to be chosen by Valve, who made their judgments based on things like your recent play on Valve’s official servers, your trustworthiness, and the status of your Steam account. A-VAC ban from Counter-Strike: Global Offensive will also prevent you from playing Counter-Strike 2.

You will see a notification on the CS: GO main menu if you have been chosen. Choose “ENROLL” when you see the invitation, and Counter-Strike 2 will start downloading. To play the Counter-Strike 2 Limited Test, run CS: GO when the download is finished, then choose the “Limited Test” option.

You will be able to use the new Counter-Strike 2 features, such as revised maps, dynamic smokes, and zero tick rate servers, once you have downloaded the game. But, in the Limited Test, there will only be other players present, making it appear like you are unable to resume playing regular CS: GO.

The Limited Test will have access to all of your skins and cosmetics, but for the time being, Dust2’s matchmaking options will only be Deathmatch and Unranked Competitive. But, more maps and game options will be introduced as the test continues.

Fear not if you missed out on the initial wave of the Counter-Strike 2 Limited Test; Valve intends to add additional participants up to the game’s release in the summer, giving you plenty of opportunities to participate. There are no limitations on producing material for Counter-Strike 2, so for the time being your best option is to launch Twitch and attempt to find a broadcaster that got access.
