Microsoft: Call of Duty Mobile will be phased out by Warzone Mobile Overtime

The First-person shooter game Call of Duty Mobile was developed by TiMi Studios and released by Activision. The game, which has over 300 million downloads in its first year alone after its introduction in October 2019, swiftly rose to become one of the most-played mobile games. Multiplayer options in Call of Duty Mobile include traditional Call of Duty games like Team Deathmatch, Domination, and Search and Destroy.

In the game’s Battle Royale mode, up to 100 players can engage in combat on a vast battlefield. Call of Duty Mobile is a must-play for any lover of the Call of Duty series or first-person shooter games because of its stunning graphics, reversible load-outs, and regular updates. 

However, according to a recent report by Microsoft, Call Of Duty Mobile may soon see its downfall. Microsoft says Call of Duty: Mobile will be “phased out” over time and be replaced by Warzone Mobile. One of the most played games of this generation is Call Of Duty Warzone. 

The much-anticipated mobile version of the popular first-person shooter game Call of Duty Warzone is called Call of Duty Warzone Mobile. This Activision-created mobile game aims to replicate the original’s fast-paced, action-packed gameplay on your phone or tablet. The release date of the game is yet to be announced by the company, however, it is anticipated that the game will be released by the mid of 2023. Looking at the trailer and features of the game, it is evident that the game is going to be unreal and provide a whole new experience to mobile gamers. Pre-registration for the game is already going on, and it is clearly evident that the game will witness a massive release. Almost 25 million pre-registrations for Warzone Mobile have now been made, earning players milestone gifts including the Dark Familiar symbol, Foe’s Flame vinyl, Condemned Operator skin for Ghost, and two blueprints. Many developers, including Solid State, Demonware, Digital Legends, and Beenox, are currently working on the game.

Activision Blizzard is still being acquired by Microsoft in a massive $70 billion deal that has been awaiting regulatory approval since last year. The Call of Duty gaming franchise may be sold off by the firm in order for its difficult purchase to go through this summer. Microsoft believes that doing so would limit its ability to compete with Sony, Apple, and Google. Because it would prohibit Microsoft from reaching its main strategic aim, a divestiture

“A divestment would have severe adverse effects on the development of competition because it would prevent Microsoft from achieving its key strategic objective,” according to Microsoft in the paper.
