Throughout the years the gaming industry has made significant and surprising growth, every year we experience a whole new level of gaming. That has left us with a lot of expectations and the gamers are looking forward to some of the most anticipated releases of new games in the year 2023. And not only games we can also expect some changes in the hardware as well and as the competitive race states that all the console companies have been trying to improve their hardware and enhance the user experience.

Grand Theft Auto 6 Announcement
What could be a better start than discussing GTA – VI, the world has been thirsty for any updates regarding the new Rockstars game GTA 6, last year should we say unfortunately or luckily we got to see some leaked footage of GTA 6, which has given the gamers a hope that the new game will be coming out soon. With a lot of hype, expectations, and rumors surrounding the game, it is expected that the Rockstar games will make an announcement regarding the game in the year 2023. But with the hype the game has created it would be safe to say that the game will not be released in 2023, we can expect the release in 2024 or 2025. But we have waited for years, waiting for a couple of years won’t hurt but at least we should get an announcement or update regarding the game.
If you’re not aware, Rockstar Games announced its last two games, GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2, two years before release, thus a 2023 announcement indicates a 2025 release.
New PlayStation 5 Video Game Console
Sony is developing a new Playstation console. Some claim it’s a new sleek model with a removable disc drive, while others claim it’s the pro model. Fans aren’t overjoyed with the Pro model, but they are intrigued by this reported skinny variant. It’ll be interesting to see what new changes the companies make and it is safe to say that PS 5 is the most powerful console at the moment. It has been a big hit since its release and with new changes coming up it may break its own record, who knows?
Project Keystone Announcement
Microsoft gaming CEO Phil Spencer confirmed and unveiled Project Keystone to some extent at The Verge’s Decoder Podcast. Keystone was “most expensive than Microsoft wanted it to be,” according to Phil Spencer. As a result, Keystone was placed on hold for the time being. Despite the company’s shift in attention to having Xbox Cloud Gaming integrated into Samsung TVs and other devices, it is thought that Keystone is not fully abandoned.
It is safe to say that a late 2023 announcement is plausible, with the gadget being fine-tuned and manufactured to Microsoft’s specifications for a holiday 2024 release. Spencer has previously stated that with the Xbox Series S retailing at $299, the price difference with Keystone must be big enough to present buyers with value.
Switch 2 Announcement
This is perhaps my most “out there” prediction for 2023, but given that the Nintendo Switch is rapidly becoming obsolete, I expect at least an introduction of the Switch 2 in 2023. According to a recent report, a mid-gen update for the Switch was planned and then canceled, most likely because Nintendo is preparing a generation upgrade, rendering a mid-gen upgrade useless. The Switch will be six years old in March 2023, approaching the average period for a new console generation update.
Call of Duty on Nintendo Switch
There were countless stories regarding Microsoft acquiring Activision, but the deal did not go through, and it is evident that Microsoft is not done yet. And we should hear something about it early this year. And, if Microsoft acquires Activision, it is safe to assume that they will fulfill their pledge to bring the popular Call of Duty franchise to Nintendo platforms. And if that happens next year, we will almost certainly see one of those titles on Nintendo Switch.
It will be interesting to see how this workout.
